This October, we will raise the kelp curtains and invite you to leave your legs behind. Prepare to be titillated and teased by the mermaids and amphibisexuals of the once famous New Orleans nightclub “The Show and Tail”.
Over 70 installation artists, musicians, and performers have resurrected an extinct theater form known as the masque, exploring allegorical pageantry through interactive sets, outrageous costumes, and experimental stage machinery. We take our inspiration from the real-life mermaid shows of Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida, and the Brookdale Lodge in California. THIS IS NOT A KID FRIENDLY SHOW. Interspecies sex and deep sea monsters abound. There will be real-life underwater mermaids.
Guests are encouraged to come early and dressed as New Orleans tourists from the mid 1960s, or the disco kings and queens of the mid 1970s.
